The SROI Network International Conference - a time for social value
16/01/2012
16-17th February 2012 - University of Potsdam, Campus Griebnitzsee, Germany

As the world continues to face social and environmental challenges, the level of interest in social and environmental impact continues to increase. Social and impact investors, public sector commissioners and CSR departments increasingly want to know how much value their investment creates, and social entrepreneurs are recognising the importance of maximising the value they can create for those they serve.

Behind this interest is the question – how much social value are we creating?

The SROI Network International Conference will explore how Social Return on Investment, the framework and principles, can help answer this.

The conference has been organised in cooperation with iq consult as part of the "entersocial Good Practice Transfer" project, funded by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Women and Family of the Federal State of Brandenburg by means of the European Social Fund and the Federal State of Brandenburg.

The conference will cover the following topics:
• Introduction to SROI
• The policy context for social value
• Involving stakeholders and identifying outcomes
• CSR and SROI
• Measuring and valuing outcomes
• Different tools available to help analyse social value
• The process for assurance
• Using the VOIS database
• Presentation of international SROI case studies

Update social e-valuator
12/10/2010

The amount of space available in the social e-valuator has been increased. The social e-valuator now offers more flexibility for drafting SROI analyses, while retaining the focus on SMART and concise statements.

In particular, the functionality of the following elements has been enhanced:
- Theory of change
- Outcomes
- Indicators
- Valuing
- Notes and explanations

Note that existing analyses can also benefit from this additional functionality. You may just login to your analysis and add to or augment your data.

If you have recently used the social e-valuator, please make sure to empty the cache of your internet browser. When using Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to Extra>Internet Options. Make sure your are in the tab "General", and click on "Remove" within the section "History". You should only remove "Temporary Internetfiles". You may now restart your browser, and login to the social e-valuator to see the latest version of the tool. Google Chrome and Mozilla FireFox have comparable procedures for removing browsing history.

If you have any questions regarding this update, please do not hesitate to contact the Social Evaluator team.
Social e-valuator and SROI Report assurance
11/10/2010
The social e-valuator tool can be used when applying for assurance with the SROI Network. When using the social e-valuator software, make sure to take account of the SROI Guidance Note. This document can be download in the section About SROI.

The social e-valuator helps you in preparing the SROI analysis but meeting the quality standards is the responsibility of the user. Details on these requirements and quality standards drafted by the SROI Network can be found at http://www.thesroinetwork.org/content/view/112/115/.

If you have any questions regarding the assurance process, please contact either info@socialevaluator.eu or info@thesroinetwork.org.

The objective for 2010, shared by these 35 organizations, is to have more organizations using the tool and set up working groups to work on sharing metrics, financial proxies, and valuation methodologies.

Social e-valuator tool fully operational
03/11/2008
Since 1 November 2009 the social e-valuator went live after three months of beta testing. Social Evaluator distinguishes two types of licenses:
The first option is a license to the social e-valuator management account. The management account enables users to prepare multiple SROI analyses, customize indicators and stakeholders, access the Social Evaluator helpdesk and obtain on-the-job training. If you are interested in this, or you have a question about this, please send an email to info@socialevaluator.eu.
The second option is for an individual login code to the social e-valuator. This login code allows to prepare an SROI analysis for one project and access relevant user manuals. The price for an individual login code is € 250,-- excluding VAT. A login code can be obtained at info@socialevaluator.eu.
